Norfolk to unveil new music venue
A revamped music venue in Norfolk is to be unveiled within the next few weeks, according to eveningnews24.co.uk. What was the Norfolk Showground – now renamed the Norfolk Showground Arena – is due for completion soon, following heavy investment into the 3,000-square-feet site.
Currently used for fairs and sales, it is hoped that the addition of a new indoor exhibition centre and improved facilities will establish the Arena as a top live music venue; attracting well-known artists to the area.
Imposing new reception
The Arena has been fitted out with an ‘imposing new reception’, decorative internal cladding and finished to allow high-spec acoustics. The addition of cladding panels may possibly have contributed to the top quality sound.
Six ‘big name gigs’ already lined up
In its bid to become a well-known music venue, Arena bosses have agreed a deal with music promoter Envy Promotions to stage six ‘big name gigs’.
Speaking about the aim on behalf of the Arena, Showground’s business development manager, Louise Wilkinson, told norfolkshowground.co.uk:
“We have invested £1.4m in the building. The main drive behind the investment was to allow us to enter new markets so we are delighted to be working with Envy to bring concerts to Norfolk. We are sure local people will welcome the opportunity to see top names locally rather than having to travel to London.”
