Colour and Colorcoat

Colour and Colorcoat

Whilst it is possible to produce Corus Colorcoat® products in a wide choice of colours, to ensure the availability of products throughout the supply chain, they are generally shown as a range of standard colours. The use of standard colour ranges also ensures that complementary products, such as fixtures and fittings, are readily available to achieve a high level of coordination on the finished building. That said, Colorcoat HPS200® Ultra can be produced in bespoke colours. Repertoire®, the online colour-matching tool has been specifically developed to facilitate this. For colour matching on other Colorcoat® products please contact the Colorcoat Connection® helpline.

Market research conducted by Corus reveals that durability followed by colour availability are the primary factors which influence the choice of a pre-finished steel product. Given the potential obstacles which need to be navigated when considering the colour for a new or existing building, this is hardly surprising. The colour of an existing building or adjacent buildings from an earlier development may need to be taken into account, as might local geographic preferences, location or planning restrictions and house colours or corporate branding.

To demonstrate the importance Corus places on responding to changing market trends and requirements, two recent colour-driven developments, Repertoire® and Colorcoat Prisma® are highlighted.

A building is subject to many external and internal factors that can affect the performance of the materials it is clad in and ultimately the life span of the building itself.
