The tools provided can be used to address many of the questions that you may get asked about the sustainable credentials of your supplier. The following statements can be presented to demonstrate the Corus approach sustainability credentials, or to consider alternative suppliers against. More detailed statements are available from the Colorcoat Connection® helpline.

  • All UK sites within Corus manufacturing pre-finished steel are certified to the independently verified international environmental management system, ISO 14001.
  • At Corus we actively develop our products and processes to reduce the environmental impact to a level beyond mere compliance.
  • All Corus products are manufactured offsite in factory controlled conditions, providing clear advantages in terms of speed of construction and minimising social disruption.
  • Corus has a commitment to health and safety, training and development and participation in local activities and education.
  • The products we supply are designed to provide the right combination of aesthetic appeal, functionality and ergonomics to serve the intended purpose.
  • Corus can provide detailed LCC and LCA information that demonstrates the positive performance of Colorcoat® products when compared with other materials.
  • Steel can be recycled again and again without any degradation in terms of properties or performance. It is the most widely recycled material in the world, with more than 354 million tonnes recycled annually.
  • Corus can recommend refurbishment solutions for either over-painting or re-cladding which can extend a building’s life.
