Corus introduces Colorcoat Urban™

05 Feb 2008

Corus Colorcoat Urban™, a new roofing product designed for the sustainable urban building.

This high performing roof product has strong sustainable credentials; a range of tonal colours suited for the urban fabric; and, a choice of profiles enabling greater design freedom.

Colorcoat Urban™ is equally at home on town houses to apartments, schools to health centres, and public buildings to sports pavilions.

The matt colour range has been inspired by architects specifically for the urban fabric.  Plus, the ability to achieve a stable colour ensures a premium aesthetic of a consistent, even shade, which is unachievable from most other roofing materials.

Colorcoat Urban™ was incorporated on the recently opened BASF Creative Energy House, a sustainable housing project focusing on energy efficiency and affordability, using an array of innovative and sustainable materials. Based in the grounds of The University of Nottingham the use of Colorcoat Urban™ for the roof not only signals that there is an eco-building below it, but also contributes to its sustainability credentials.

Colorcoat Urban™ is a low carbon urban roof material.  It is 100% recyclable, inherently air-tight, and being light weight makes for reduced logistics, easy handling on site and also an ideal refurbishment option.  It has also undergone and passed stringent testing to BS6920 ‘Suitability of non metallic products for use in contact with water intended for human consumption’, supporting its use for rainwater harvest systems. Future proofed, Colorcoat UrbanTM facilitates simple, effortless and aesthetic integration of photovoltaic, solar thermal, passive solar heat collection and/or green roofs, all of which are intended to enable the designer to achieve even the most stringent of forthcoming legislation.

Aesthetically, environmentally and technically, Colorcoat Urban™ is the sustainable roof product of choice for residential and small scale buildings.
