The versatility of pre-finished steel is reflected in the wide range of products available and their many applications in construction. With the Colorcoat® brand Corus have developed a range of pre-finished steel products and services over forty years specifically designed for building envelopes. These have been comprehensively tested and enhanced to offer superior durability and aesthetics. Considered alongside one of the cladding systems detailed, the appropriate Colorcoat product will provide the designer with a building envelope specification which they can be confident will provide excellent performance over many years.

Colorcoat® brand

The Colorcoat® brand provides the recognised mark of quality and metal envelope expertise from Corus. Over the course of 40 years of manufacturing pre-finished steel products, we have worked in partnership with a small number of innovative paint companies to develop technically-leading products and services.

Exterior Products

Colorcoat® exterior products have been developed specifically to support the aesthetic and functional requirements of modern architecture. Colorcoat includes pre-finished steel products with unique coating formulations offering long-term performance and the most comprehensive guarantees available.

Interior Products

Colorcoat® products are also available for interior applications. The products included have been specifically developed for the internal sheets of twin-skin building envelope systems as well as office interiors.

The CES Range

With the Controlled Environment Surface CES range, Corus have developed products that have inert surfaces and anti-static properties suitable for cold stores, food preparation areas and clean rooms. Additional protection is available with Assure® to provide the first ever antibacterial pre-finished steel.

Services

Colorcoat® includes a range of services including guarantees, colour matching, prototype facilities and expert advice and guidance built up over 40 years. These support the extensive product range and are readily made available to building designers.

Durability

A building is subject to many external and internal factors that can affect the performance of the materials it is clad in and ultimately the life span of the building itself. Here we introduce the main factors that can affect the durability of a building envelope and the way in which Corus has used these to design and develop Colorcoat® products over forty years to offer long-term performance and appearance. Corus expertise in the area of durability and our understanding of the impact that different substrate and paint formulations can have, forms the basis of the comprehensive Confidex® guarantee for Colorcoat HPS200® Ultra and Colorcoat Prisma® products.

Guarantees

The peace of mind offered through guarantees can be an important factor influencing the choice of what material to use for a building project. However, not all guarantees provide the same level of cover and it is therefore important to understand what is and is not included so that comparisons can be made.
