Colorcoat® brand

The Colorcoat® brand provides the recognised mark of quality and metal envelope expertise from Corus. Over the course of 40 years of manufacturing pre-finished steel products, we have worked in partnership with a small number of innovative paint companies to develop technically-leading products and services. These have extended the aesthetics and performance of prefinished steel products. They have opened up the potential for their use in inner city, contemporary building for residential, schools and offices, as well as the more traditional industrial and commercial applications. Colorcoat has also been developed extensively for demanding interior applications such as clean rooms.

• The Colorcoat brand launched as a mark of quality and technical expertise. It was the first in Europe to develop and manufacture 200 µm plastisol, with leathergrain effect.
• Product Development Centre established at Shotton with facilities to offer prototype fabrications to demonstrate Colorcoat products’ capabilities.

• Colorcoat establishes an advisory service
• Second generation Colorcoat plastisol launched with improved performance for dark colours
• Service launched for Colorcoat products providing 75 mm x 150 mm samples or larger ones on request.

• Publication of first steel architectural guide for roof and wall cladding.
• Colorcoat HP200® launched, with the unique 200 µm leathergrain plastisol formulation offering superior durability and performance and a period-to-first-maintenance of up to 20 years.

• The Confidex® guarantee is introduced for Colorcoat HP200, the first in Europe for a pre-finished steel product.
• Colorcoat HPS200® is exclusively developed by Corus to give enhanced corrosion protection and colourretention with the unique Scintilla® emboss.
• Colorcoat Celestia®, the first high-build, ultra-durable pre-finished steel in metallic shades, is launched.
• Colorcoat Building Manual published as a detailed source of advice and guidance on design specification and construction of metal envelopes.

• The Repertoire® service is introduced through www.colorcoat-online.com to offer an almost unlimited colour-range for Colorcoat HPS200 with the complete peace-of-mind of the Confidex guarantee.
• Colorcoat® Armacor launched offering a cost effective medium term pre-finished steel product for roof and wall applications.
• Through consultation with architects, Colorcoat Celestia is expanded to include 16 colours around the theme of ‘Metallic Metallics’.

• Colorcoat HPS200 range is expanded to include, for the first time, the most popular metallic shades with a Confidex guarantee of up to 25 years.
• Confidex guarantee is extended to provide up to 30 years cover for roofs.
• Confidex guarantee is revised to simplify colourchoice and encompass ‘Maintenance-free for Colorcoat HPS200’
• Corus continues to offer advice and guidance to the construction sector with the launch of ‘The Colorcoat Building’ manual.
