Eco Design

Colorcoat Urban™ has been enhanced using eco design principles. These are aimed at minimising the environmental impact of the product from raw material production through to manufacture, utilisation and re-use or recycling.

All manufacturing processes are carefully controlled to the highest environmental quality standards and are ISO 14001 certified.

As a result the Carbon footprint of this product is more than 3x lower than some of the leading eco-designed urban roofing products.

BS6920: Drinking Water Safe

Tested to British Standards, BS6920 as suitable for rain water collection, when combined with appropriate treatment, to provide safe drinking water.

BRE Green Guide - ‘A Rated’

Steel system is rated ‘A’ in the BRE green guide to specification, 3rd edition.

Cool Roof

Special properties of the roofing material reflects the heat away from the building, providing the  primary solution to Urban Heat Island effect.

Light Weight

Approximately 7x lighter than current roof tiles, means reduced logistics and easier handling.  Less lorries is good for the environment, lower cost, and considerate to the local community.

Cradle to Cradle

Our roofing material is 100% recyclable with zero degradation in materials properties, when recycled – unlike nearly all of the other construction materials.  It also contains more than 20% recycled content.

Future Proofed

Simple, effortless and appealing integration of photovoltaic, solar thermal, passive solar heat collection and/or green roofs can be achieved.

Intended to assist the designer in achieving even the most stringent of forthcoming legislation.
