 |  | - Research shows that designers are still failing to exploit the potential they have to eliminate and reduce risks on site;
- HSE interventions with designers show that designers are often uncertain of their responsibilities, lack information and training, and produce mountains of generic DRA paperwork that adds little value; and
- Lets face it, the wording of the designer legislation is far from easy, so that’s a job for HSE to sort out.
This website aims to breathe new life into the CDM designers debate by: - being clear on what designers do and don’t have to do;
- suggesting an alternative to DRAs for conveying information;
- suggesting how you can assess your own training needs, and your level of CDM compliance;
- introduces the concept of red, amber and green lists as practical aides to designers on what to eliminate/avoid, and what to encourage;
- providing a facility for practicing designers to recommend other sites or reference materials to their professional colleagues.
